The Cannonball Run is inching closer everyday. I have started the unsavory task of putting together the final Financial Plan for this adventure. Research is telling me that it will take about $4000 to make this happen. That covers everything from shipping my scooter to the starting line to daily meals.
I am sending out requests to businesses to see if I can get some help and defer these costs a bit.
I will also be trying to put together some events to see if I can get some help from my friends and family to make this a little easier as well.
What do you think? What would it take to get you to invest?
Is it your first broken heart? Is it the death of your first dog?
All I know us that I am thankful for my mother protecting me from the heartache that enviably comes with adult hood for as long as she could.
I only hope to make her proud in my efforts to be a good person. Even if I never want to grow up.
The end of the web as we know it? -
I was doing some reading about Facebook, Twitter and the how we share. This is an interesting take on it all.
I have written, deleted, scrapped, saved, and rehashed many different posts since the last one. I have been trying to figure out something else to write other then my usual “Stream of Consciousness” I usually spew out.
I’m still looking for that something.
Damn right it will.
Beastiality is the key to it, I think. I have always loved animals. They are different from us and their brains are not complex. But their hearts are pure. And there is usually no fat on their bodies. And they will never call the police on you or take you in front of a judge or run off and hide with your money. Remember: Animals do not hire lawyers. — HST
This weekend I will be heading to Denver Colorado for Mile High Mayhem 14. It will be my first year at this rally, and while I am not riding to it I am still looking forward to all the great rides that will happen while I am out there.
This will also be the first real showing of the newly redone Stella. Unfortunately not all my parts and pieces are in so its not 100% but I am still happy with it!
Im sitting at my desk looking at a pile of papers. Some of them are probably bills that need tending too but I don’t really care. Maybe if I take care of them and clean this area I will be less distracted. Maybe if most of my hobbies and jobs didn’t require me to stare at a back lit screen I would be able to create more.
Maybe I am just like everyone else and have a bad day once in a while.
It usually starts when you realize that your weekend is almost over and you have to return that the soul sucking corporate job just so you can have another 48 hours to your self the next week. For some it starts early and effectively killing off a good portion of a Sunday after noon.
For me it starts around bed time, when most working people consider calling it a day and getting some decent sleep to face the next day. I start thinking of all the fun stuff I would rather be doing the next day. I even think about the not fun stuff I could be doing.
Then I get on the interwebs and read other peoples posts about how cool they are and how much fun they are having and siphon a little joy from that. Which quickly becomes a bitter poison of coveting.
So I start plotting and planning. Telling my self I will be a better person and do more with my time. If I try hard, plan, organize I will have enough time to do it all.
Maybe this time it will stick.
Happy Sunday!
My approach for the Scooter Cannonball Run in 2012 - Planning and Maintenance.
I realize that there are many people out there prepping for the ride that have vastly superior mechanical skills then I have, so why try to build a super machine when its not my strong suit?
So I began thinking about the contact points with the bike. What will make my ride more comfortable and safer? What do I touch and what touches the road?
So I decided to start with me. If I am in shape riding 4-5 hours a day will be easier. Which brings me to my current addiction, CrossFit. My buddy Jack told me about CrossFit and how much fun it was and how it helped him. So I did a little research and signed up at Black Box Fitness after seeing this place on another friends Facebook.
Its only been a couple months but I already feel stronger and have more energy. I hope that by keeping with it that I will be able to weather the ride easier and with less pain along the way. If not at least I will lose a few pounds and that will help with top speed and gas mileage.
