For those planning to rock.
In just a few weeks it will be that time of year where all musicans that own a white van will be required to travel to Austin TX to take part in th SXSW.  I have been envoying this spectical for many years now.  Sometimes as a performer others as a spectator.  Last year I was just a spectator and in a week I racked up what I feel is an impressive count of 48 bands. Prisefighters and swimmers.
It all started with a sprint and a leap.  “Jump as high and as far as you can” I told myself.  Coming down waiting for the splash it seemed like I fell forever.  Sounds muffled and swirled and my sight was blurry.  It was a while before I realized I didn’t swim back to the surface.  I hope someone was there to see my splash, to record it, to tell the tale of the tape.

melissa: A friend just asked me what he should be doing to get ready for SXSW this year, so here you go, too: - Make an iPhone portable schedule for yourself w/ SCHED (2009 will be up soon to replace 2008’s, here: http://sxsw2008.sched.org/) and use that to keep track of things. Just noticed that this month and next have a Friday the 13th in them.  I am sure people will say how its special or something.  But all I know is that the Friday the 13th remake comes out and I will be in the theater watching it.
